Finally: the tango films of the past on DVD!
![]() | Carlos Gardel on DVD The four films Gardel made for Paramount in New York in 1934/35. First time on DVD. However artifical the setting of the songs, the films provide a context completely lacking when we hear them on disc. The contemporary scenes and costumes, the highly stratified society, and for the anglophone, experiencing the songs sung with subtitles, all make these films highly enjoyable. Also available: Melodia de Arrabal Edition details

But his efforts are in vain and she dies. The singer starts a new life, touring the world with his little daughter. He finally attains success and life gives him one more chance. The curious fact about this film co-starring Rita Moreno: a young Astor Piazzolla had a minor role, for which he was paid $25. Edition details
