In 1998 the French record company Déclic Communciation signed an exclusive licensing deal with Fania Records making available to them the original masters of that company's entire back catalogue - some 1200 artists. In their Salsa Masters collection they plan to release 20 albums a year over a five year period.

At the same time they are releasing on CD 100 classic salsa albums on their Fania Legends series.
